Eastern Mineral and Environmental Resources Science Center
This task investigates ways that Mineral Resources Program information, data, and expertise can be applied to high prioirity USGS integrated science projects. This task will provide support for the Wyoming Lands Conservation Initiative (WLCI), an interagency effort in which the USGS is participating.
We conducted soil analysis for the greater Green River Basin, development of a soil quality index (SQI) for southwestern Wyoming, and chemistry and trace metal analysis in the Muddy Creek watershed of south-central Wyoming.
This task developed and tested mineral-environmental assessment methods in the WLCI area of Southwest Wyoming. The assessment methods will also be tailored to help address highpriority issues of interest in the area, as determined through discussions with WLCI scientists.
