Geological Survey Eastern Mineral and Environmental Resources Science Center (EMERSC), part of the USGS Mineral Resources Program and based at the USGS National Center in Reston, VA, conducts unbiased research on the occurrence, quality, quantity, and availability of mineral resources in order to help the Nation make informed decisions using earth-science information.
