Alaska Mineral Resources
The Alaska Resource Data File (ARDF) is a subset of the national Mineral Resource Data System (MRDS) that has been specifically re-formatted and re-designed to better meet the needs of the local user community. Strategies to ensure that ARDF is complete and accessible include the review of published literature and unpublished reports, consultation with Federal and State agencies and the minerals industry about newly-discovered Alaskan mineral occurrences, and dissemination of the final product to both the public and MRDS. Each report is reviewed for consistency and content.
(1) Maintain the existing ARDF website.
(2) Provide updates reflecting new discoveries and additional information about known sites.
(3) Enhance user access to the data through additional formats.
(4) Standardize protocols whereby ARDF data is re-integrated into MRDS.
